If at any time you are worried for your well-being or physical safety or the safety of your children you may be able to  our emergency shelter in Niagara Falls (Nova House). Contact our crisis line (905-356-5800). Collect calls are accepted at any time and a counselor will be able to discuss a stay in our shelter.

Our shelter can be your safe place where you can find comfort, get your bearings and consider how to move forward from here.

Our team of dedicated, trained Women’s Intervention Advocates will help to empower you in your struggle to overcome abuse.

In addition to providing you and your children with temporary accommodations and meals, all in complete confidence and free of charge, we will provide you with information about abuse and help you explore your options as you seek to make the choices that are right for you.

Along with other shelter residents, you’ll be able to participate in interactive life skills sessions offering practical assistance, emotional support and help in developing the skills you’ll need to explore different courses of action and make a fresh start.

You’ll also have access to all of the other client services we offer: help with addressing employment, financial, housing and legal concerns; as well as child and youth services, individual and group counseling.

Depending on your situation, you may need help planning for your ongoing safety.

We’ll do our best to provide you with what you need and refer you to other community agencies that specialize in the various transitional services you might require.

After you leave the shelter, we’ll provide follow-up support, helping you to press on in your journey toward health and hope.
